Tillman says he has completed many installations in Annandale and has worked across the Inner West for more than a decade. That local experience includes homes where roof access, space and older electrical infrastructure can make solar and battery work less straightforward.

He has worked as an electrician for 20 years. His background is in residential maintenance electrical work. Over the past five years, his focus has shifted to solar installations. He describes the business as a small team of two to five people. It provides sales, installation and service for Inner West customers. Today, Eastnwest solar, also known as Tillman electrical services, handles solar panels, home batteries and EV chargers. The team also upgrades switchboards and meter boxes.

A recent Forest Lodge project tested that practical experience. The job involved a solar and battery installation on a three-storey terrace with limited working room and difficult access. Tillman says many others had declined it. His team worked through the constraints and completed the installation. It is the kind of project he is proud of: a demanding job on an Inner West home that needed a plan suited to the site.

Tillman says clear communication is an important part of the work.
